Der japanische Regisseur Takashi Miike, der in Tokio von Joshua Gordon gefilmt wurde, hat sowohl in seinem Heimatland als auch international als Filmemacher der Extreme von Brutalität, Sex und Gore Kultstatus erlangt. Durch eine transozeanische kulturelle Lektüre von Tetsuya Suzuki lernen wir die Filmikone kennen, die sich trotz ihrer über 30-jährigen Filmarbeit das Ethos des permanenten Außenseiters bewahrt hat.
