The story begins in 2010, when Olivier Bernhard, a three-time duathlon world champion and multiple Ironman winner, had the idea of inventing the perfect running shoe. Then his friends Caspar Coppetti and David Alleman completed his team and founded On in Zurich. Switzerland is known for its engineering and On obviously took that advantage and made it a part of their brand identity. It paid off, in the same year of the introduction of On Running, they won the ISPO BrandNew Award for most innovative sports products. And in July of 2010, the first On-shoes were released on to the market. In the following years On running got bigger and bigger and had a huge success in the running category. In 2011, the University of Applied Science in Zurich even proved that the On-technology has a positive effect on running. The brand and the variety of products grew more and more. The expanded to different styles and even clothing. In 2019 Roger Federer became co-owner of On and the brand grew to a new level. The Tennis star brought even more attention to On and a lot of knowledge that can be utilized for the future development of the brand.
Since On is now on the road to taking on the lifestyle category - and, looking at the Cloudnova and Cloud X, we are convinced that they will succeed - we had to make sure to add On to our roster of brands. As you can see in the pictures, the shoes add that little something to a dope outfit. So make sure to look out for more to come from On in the next couple of months.
