Bottling Counterculture: Introducing Nineteen-Sixtynine

Founded by Swedish artist and product developer Johan Bergelin, Nineteen-Sixtynine, or 19-69 for short, is a young brand in the world of perfumes and accessories. The brand was founded in 2017 and debuted with five different fragrances, each inspired by different cultural and historical backgrounds.

The name 19-69 is a tribute to counterculture, freedom and the late 1960s, a time characterised by significant social upheaval and artistic innovation. Each Nineteen-Sixtynine fragrance tells a story and is inspired by iconic moments, places and personalities from history. For example, the fragrance ‘Purple Haze’ evokes the spirit of the Woodstock music festival in 1969 and other cultural landmarks from that time.

Although Nineteen-Sixtynine focuses primarily on fragrances, its approach to storytelling and cultural homage also resonates in fashion. By creating unisex fragrances and celebrating artistic and cultural diversity, it creates a community that values authenticity and inclusivity.

Nineteen-Sixtynine has created its niche in the industry and offers customers the opportunity to differentiate themselves through unique fragrances while maintaining the spirit of counterculture.
