Gasius the label of British artist Russel Maurice, who was able to reap more and more enthusiasm for his bizarre illustrations over the years. In 1993, Russel released a collection of 10 hand-painted T-shirts, which he gave away to his friends.

Gasius is inspired by graffiti, rave, classic skater prints, streetwear icons like FUCT, early 80's comics and a lifelong love of pizza.

Individuality in the Mainstream

With Gasius, artist Russel Maurice shows the whole range of his inspiration. Besides everyday impressions such as comics or graffiti, this also includes nature in its recurring forms and patterns as well as metaphysical-spiritual motifs such as energy or alchemy. A melange of all this is presented in his works, which are often described as surreal, psychedelic or whimsical. In the design of clothing and sports shoes, the influence of classic skater and streetwear motifs is just as unmistakable as his love of pizza.

From London to Tokyo

Gasius is the creation of artist Russell Maurice, born in Newcastle (UK) in 1965, and began in 1993 with a small collection of hand-painted T-shirts for his friends. His work is now exhibited all over the world and his designs are sought after by well-known fashion brands.
