At the end of the 70s, in 1977, "ONITSUKA TIGER" merged with several other companies to form Asics. But the philosophy of Kihachiro Onitsuka lives on in the Asics shoes, because the name is the abbreviation for "Anima Sana In Corpore Sano - „In a healthy body dwells a healthy mind!“.
