Summer, man. The air smells of chlorine and sunscreen, the sidewalks are festooned with broken bottles, and the sweating people get more aggressive with each additional degree Celsius. Paradoxically, summer still has the upper hand. It's the invincible season, the ultimate invitation to procrastination. It's the time of year when life actually presents itself as full of possibilities. And that's exactly why the summer edition of Lodown brings back the heat.

• JEAN JULLIEN: The French multidisciplinary artist has just opened a major solo exhibition titled "Studiolo" that will run basically the entire second half of 2023 at Brussels' MIMA - his first institutional solo exhibition in Europe, to be exact.
• POSE: POSE started getting involved with graffiti back in 1992, and later became part of the well-known crews The Seventh Letter and MSK. In 2005, he co-founded We Are Supervision before deciding to focus entirely on his artistic career in 2009.
• CHICAGO GANG CULTURE: Los Angeles-based writer Alec Banks visited his hometown of Chicago for "Compliments of: Chicago Gang Culture," an excellent new book that offers deep insights into the visual history and exploration of Chi-Town's gang culture and its contested place within the city.
• WILL COTTON: New York City-based painter Will Cotton continues his signature take on Americana with his latest exhibition, "Trigger," currently on view at Paris' Galerie Templon.
• Plus, there are more elaborate features and visual genius from the likes of: Andrea Orejarena, Caleb Stein, Tristan Martinez, Adali Schell, and many others.
