New Balance: then and now

William J. Riley, an English immigrant, started his own business in Boston. At first, he produced customised insoles. Only later did he specialise in the production of shoes. Unfortunately, the real success was still lacking.

But then suddenly came the resounding success! The "Trackster" was able to conquer the hearts of many people and was dubbed the most worn shoe in American colleges.

After this breakthrough, things went steeply uphill for New Balance. Eventually, the company established itself high up as one of the four biggest sports brands in the world.

Conquering the fashion world

New Balance has even been able to prove itself in the fashion scene.

The rather plain shoe with the big "N" on the outside has left a positive impression in the world of fashion. Even celebrities like German top model Heidi Klum and US superstar Rihanna present themselves with their latest New Balance shoes.

New Balance went even further and placed the "NB" logo on the jerseys of top football teams, such as Liverpool FC or Sevilla FC.

Quality shoe

New Balance is constantly working to ensure that the shoe adapts to the foot and not the other way round. That is why shoes come in several widths from "narrow" to "extra wide". The cushioning also varies from shoe to shoe.
