With capital warring against nature and euphoria failing against the potential of the digital for disinformation and alienation, a new gothic spirit permeates much of today's art and culture, fueled by apocalyptic readings of automation, artificial intelligence and climate change. This multidisciplinary report, which includes contemporary art, music, architecture, games, and obscure subcultures, explores how artists and creators pick up melancholy, the sublime power of chaos, and the unknown to tackle the grim side of our present state. With an introduction by Caroline Busta and LIL INTERNET, an interview with artists Anne Imhof and Eliza Douglas (by Bill Kouligas), essays on rapper / producer Yung Lean (by Katja Horvat) and gaming mastermind Hideo Kojima (by Lana Polansky) Franklin Melendez's interpretation of New Gotham from the point of view of contemporary artists (with an enclosed poster by Darja Bajagić).
